Frequently asked questions
What can I expect at my first appointment?
We start with a short conversation about where you feel tension or pain and what you’d like to achieve. Then the treatment follows. You let me know what pressure feels good and where your limits are, and I always respect that. Afterwards we briefly discuss what I noticed and what a good next step would be.
Why do you only treat women?
Because many women can only truly relax in an environment that feels completely safe and familiar. In my practice you don’t have to think about anything else: it’s a place for and by women.
Do I have to undress completely?
No. You undress to whatever you feel comfortable with, and you’re always covered with a towel. Only the body part I’m treating is uncovered.
I’ve never had a massage before. Is that a problem?
Not at all. That makes the introductory massage a great place to start: calm, in consultation, and with no obligations. Many of my clients were on a treatment table for the very first time in their life with me.
How often should I come?
That depends on how long you’ve had your complaints. For tension that has built up over years, I recommend the Learning to Relax Program: four treatments in which your body learns, step by step, to let go again. After that, one treatment every four to six weeks is usually enough for most women to maintain the effect.
What’s the difference between a single treatment and the program?
A single treatment is a pleasant moment of relaxation. The program is focused on change: in four steps, your body learns to let go of tension sooner, and you learn to recognise the signals earlier. For structural complaints, I always recommend the program.
Is the treatment reimbursed by my health insurance?
No, my treatments are not reimbursed. You pay a clear rate, including VAT, without a referral or paperwork.
I’m going through menopause and sleep poorly. Can a treatment help?
Many women in or around menopause notice that tension settles in more quickly and that relaxing becomes harder. A treatment doesn’t take menopause away, but it does help your body let go of tension and settle into rest. Some women find it easier to relax or sleep more comfortably after a treatment. This differs from person to person.
Can I come if I’m pregnant or have a medical condition?
That depends on your situation. Send me a WhatsApp message or email beforehand so we can discuss what’s sensible. If in doubt, I always advise checking with your doctor first.
Can I give a treatment as a gift?
Yes, a gift voucher is possible for any amount or treatment. Send me a message and I’ll arrange it for you.
What if I need to cancel?
You can reschedule or cancel free of charge up to 24 hours in advance. After that, I’ll charge for the treatment, since the time was reserved for you.
Where is the practice located and can I park?
The practice is located at Crommelinbaan 29H in Hoofddorp, easily reachable from Haarlem, Amstelveen, Aalsmeer and the wider Haarlemmermeer area. Free parking is available right outside.
Would you like to experience what my way of working feels like for your body?
The introductory massage gives you 45 minutes to experience how I work. Afterwards, you can calmly decide whether you would like to continue. There is no obligation.
Would you prefer to ask something first? Feel free to send me a WhatsApp message. I’m happy to think along with you.
